Your bank texts you every time money moves. TrackSpence! reads those messages on your phone and turns them into a record of your spending. You never type an entry, and nothing ever leaves the device.
How it works
Your bank sends the text it always sends. The app checks the sender against a list of banks, cards, UPI apps and wallets, and ignores everything else.
The amount, the date, the merchant and the account are pulled out, and a category is worked out from the merchant. In the app, on the device.
It appears in your activity and counts towards your totals and charts. Correct it once and it remembers what you chose.

Your bank already texts you each time money moves. TrackSpence! reads those messages as they arrive and turns each one into an entry — the amount, the merchant, the account it came from and a category worked out for you. UPI, credit cards, debit cards, net banking, wallets and ATM withdrawals all land in the same list. You never type one.
The dashboard
Switch the whole view between day, week, month and year. A bar chart shows the shape of the period, a donut breaks it into categories, and a separate card shows who you actually paid — because "Groceries" and "the shop on the corner" are two different questions.
The intro screen
Most apps that read your messages promise not to misuse them. This one is built so that it cannot. Android grants network access through a permission, and TrackSpence! does not declare it — so there is no connection for anything to leave through. Messages are filtered by sender first, so texts from people are discarded before they are ever read.
Adding cash
The one thing a bank never texts you about. Add it in a few taps with a category, a date, how you paid and who it was for. Every entry the app creates for you can be edited the same way — recategorised, split, or corrected — and it remembers what you chose.
Upcoming bills
Card bills and payment reminders found in your messages are collected with their due dates and kept separate from your spending, because money that has not left yet should not be counted as though it has. A reminder arrives two days ahead rather than on the morning it is due.
Month start day
If your money arrives on the 5th, your month can start on the 5th. Set the start day once and every total, chart, limit and comparison follows it, so your salary and the spending you do with it stay in the same month.
Security settings
Turn on the app lock and TrackSpence! opens only for you. Android performs the check, so the app never sees your fingerprint. Set a monthly limit in the same place and the app will warn you as you approach it, and again when you cross it.
Backup and restore
Export a backup file to carry your data to a new phone, a CSV to work with in a spreadsheet, or a PDF statement to send to someone. All three are produced on the device and go only where you send them.
The part that matters
Most apps that read your messages promise not to misuse them. This one is built so that it cannot.
The app is built without Android’s INTERNET permission, so it cannot open a network connection at all. Anyone can verify it by inspecting the app.
Nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to. There is no back end, because there is nothing for one to do.
No advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party library of any kind that phones home.
No subscription, no unlock, no premium tier. The whole app is the free version.
Sorted automatically. Add your own, rename what does not suit you, and hide the ones you never use.
By merchant name, by category, or by amount.
Everything runs on the device, so a dead zone changes nothing.
The same message read again is recognised and skipped.
Moving your own money between accounts is not counted against you, unless you ask for it to be.
